Last night I went to Boca Raton, FL to the sunset amphitheater to see the band 30 seconds to mars. I saw them a couple years ago and was a fan ever since, so figured I had to see them since they were going to be so close. Plus it was Easter, so figured this would be my gift to myself
First band that played was called.................. I dont know because they sucked and didnt try to figure it out. Bunch of guys that looked like girls with music that sounded like it should be left in the 80s
Finally 30 seconds to mars came on stage after a crazy entrance. First thing I thought when they came on stage was "Mainnnsttreeeaammm" hollywood has taken a toll on these guys" They looked like a different band since the last time I saw them. The lead singer, Jared Leto, came out in his Canadian matching denim dan suit. They all had sunglasses on at like 930 at night which was necessary obviously.
There were 2 things that bothered me through the performance....
-1st was that everyone was holding their cameras with their outstretched arms recording the whole show making it hard to see the stage. Why go to a show if you are going to record the whole thing? Stay home and watch it online. The show looks better when you are watching it with your own eyes instead of through a small digital camera.
-2nd was how much crowd participation the band allowed. Every song was extended because we had a 5 interval where the crowd would sing instead of the lead singer. Crowd participation is awesome at a concert, but this got to the point of being annoying. All it did was make it easy on the singer and waste time so they did not have to play all of their songs.
So hey! 30 seconds to mars! sing your own songs, we paid to watch you sing. we sang in the car on the way to the show and we will sing with you at the show. Dont just give the crowd the mic for every song...cheapskate
But other than that, music sounded good, solid performance, nice venue with a 8 dollars a beer drink special.
Overall it was a good time and enjoyed the show
I would recommend going to see them in concert, but too bad if you didn't see them a couple years ago
Thats the diagnosis holla holla another day another dolla
